Linking to Picture Queensland

Picture Queensland welcomes links from other websites. Anyone can link to Picture Queensland without seeking permission from the State Library of Queensland. You can link to:

1. the Picture Queensland website
2. an individual Picture Queensland record
3. a saved (canned) search 
4. a search box 

1.  Linking to the Picture Queensland website

To link to the Picture Queensland website use the following URL:

You can use this image  to provide some graphic interest in your link to Picture Queensland.

2.  Linking to an individual Picture Queensland record

Examples: hailstorm Toowoomba, W.R.A.N.S. on Kings Beach, Caloundra

• Search for your record in Queensland Digital Library, and display the object record (the full record providing title, description, subject headings, preview image, etc.)
• Copy the url that is in the address bar. 
  
  For example, I searched for "hailstorm Toowoomba" and then I displayed the object record.  My url was:

3.  Linking to a saved search

A saved (or canned) search is a subject search that leads clients directly to images for that subject.  Clients simply click on the link to the subject term.  They do not have to use a search box to type in keywords.

Examples: images from Hervey Bay Library, sugar cane

• Run your search in the Queensland Digital Library.
  
• As soon as the Queensland Digital Library starts processing your search, copy the url that is in the address bar.

  For example, I did an advanced search for the phrase, "Burdekin Library". My url was:
